She's here

AF has arrived.  I just emailed my clinic nurse for instructions for my uterine evaluation ("mock") cycle.  I know I have to go in for a baseline u/s and blood work in the next few days, but beyond that, I don't yet know all the specifics.

I'm excited about finally taking a concrete, affirmative step toward starting our cycle.  Hooray!

On a related note, I've been kicking a$$ and taking names with my diet and exercise ever since we returned from vacation.  (Funny how having Dr. Dumbledore tell me that losing weight will decrease our risk of miscarriage has motivated me.)

MM and I were talking about eating habits last night, and he told me that he expects me to "treat [my] body like a temple" while I am "carrying [his] child."  And he wasn't kidding.  When I pointed that he is a little bit of a hypocrite on this point, with his 3/day Mou.ntain Dews, nightly "treats" (donuts, cupcakes, cookies or ice cream), and candy every afternoon, he said "The way I eat during your pregnancy won't affect our child, and that's just the way it is."  LOL

OMG, we are talking like this will actually work and I will actually be pregnant.  Yikes.

Anyway, sounds like I won't be having any junk food myself for a while. . . . oh well.  A small price to pay if this works!

  1. LOL! Just get your junk food in NOW while you still can!!! I'm happy things are movin along for you guys!

  2. Umm, your husband should refrain while your pregnant to support you!! His body is a temple too and he needs to be healthy and stick around for the long haul, right? So exciting, S. soon, soon!!

  3. So glad you are getting started. The mock cycle won't be too bad, you will probably take estrogen to see how your lining develops and estrogen levels and then you will add progesterone. It should be the same process for when you go for your transfer. Yay, so excited for you!

  4. Too funny about MM...my DH gave me a dirty look in the first tri everytime I ate a peanut butter sandwich because he read ONE article where they think that PB consumption during pg will cause higher incidence of peanut allergies. But he has since changed his tune...

  5. sounds like things are moving fast now! yay!!!

  6. @Gurlee, I agree with you wholeheartedly. I've suggested on previous weight loss attempts that MM should cut out his sweets and sodas to support me. His response? "Only people who are fat and have high cholesterol or blood pressure need to worry abuot what they eat." Yeah. (He is slim with normal values, obviously.)

@LisainSK, I think I just won't educate my husband about founds that might be less-than-desirable during pregnancy. So far as I know, his current knowledge doesn't go much beyond caffeine and alcohol, LOL.

  7. Oops, that "foods" not "founds." Duh.
