- How can it be that it's only a little over 6 weeks until Chr.ist.mas? I am not ready to think about holiday shopping, cards, etc., yet! And now that the boys are a bit older, I want to actually do some fun holiday-related outings with them this year. I'm feeling the pressure!
- On top of this pressure is the usual pressure of my daily life. Being a full-time-working-lawyer/mother-of-twin-toddlers is really difficult. I love my sons, and I (mostly) enjoy my job, but juggling the two is hard. There just aren't enough hours in the week for all the things that demand my attention.
- In addition to trying to do justice to my primary roles of mother and lawyer (in, I hope, that order), I also try to be a good wife, daughter, sister, friend and citizen. I fail regularly in one or more of these roles.
- To end on a more positive note. . . we have had beautiful weather here in Phoenix lately: daytime highs in the 80s, sunny. (Think spring most places.) It's made for some lovely outdoor outings--finally!

I do all my holiday shopping in November - finishing no later than Cyber Monday (there are usually a few "I bet that will go on sale" items I save for that weekend). That way, December itself is reserved for outings and decorations and snuggling by the fire. (And a twin birthday!) All year I Amazon Wish List anything I think of for gifts, so come Halloween I'm basically ready to get buying. It takes a lot of the pressure off.
ReplyDeleteahem, 6 weeks? what? why haven't I looked at a calendar lately? argh! now I am stressssssed!
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday!
Oops, sorry! Didn't mean to pass my stress on to others. :-)
ReplyDeleteAs a full-time lawyer mom of only one toddler, I feel your pain. I also smiled at your (mostly) enjoying your job. That's the best many of us can say, huh? :)
ReplyDeletehighs in the 80s, huh? Your weather never ceases to amaze me :). It's actually 50 and sunny here today though while parts of Northing Wi are getting slammed with snow, so I'm not complaining :)
ReplyDeleteI envy your warmth. We got our first snow the other day and right now it the rain is washing it away. :D
ReplyDeleteI'm not ready for xmas either...but most of my gifts are baked goods, so not too much stress there.
I'm having an overwhelming week too. Hope yours gets better!
ReplyDeleteI'm also in Pho enix! Hello! :)
I'm willing to bet that you (not the husband, parent, sibling, friend, or other citizens) are the only one who sees that failure while all others look at how much you're accomplishing in awe. You have a lot of plates in the air, and you're keeping them spinning.
ReplyDeleteWe had a 30 degree shift in temperatures over the last 24 hours. Brrrr...
ReplyDeleteAs for all the others, try not to overthink. Easier said. . . yes, I am aware. Take it easy.
