Curiosity killed the cat

I am an Internet stalker of the first order. I admit it. Ever since I first discovered google over ten years ago, I have done searches for numerous ex-boyfriends, long-lost friends, former classmates and others. I even use google to search my clients' backgrounds, and those of the people who sue them.

Given this fact, it's probably not surprising that since I first learned our donor's first name over two years ago, I have occasionally searched for her online. Not because I have any intention of ever contacting her, but because I'm just nosy as hell, frankly.

Today, for the first time, my searching bore fruit.  I stumbled across a website that revealed a lot of personal information about our donor, complete with photos of her that left me with no doubt that I have the right person. Information so complete and detailed that I think she'd feel weirded out if she knew I had it.

I guess that's what I get for snooping around.

  1. Hmmm, I don't have nearly that much info to go on and the couple who donated their embryos to our clinic requested that the clinic provide no info on the donor, although they did give me her DL picture, DOB, height/weight, eye and hair color. And, I know she's local.

I wonder how far I'd have to go to get them to reveal the donor's first name...

I hope that getting/having the info is a good thing for you. It would be to me.

  4. I can't even get a baby picture of the donor egg person part of the donor embryo. I did ask if it were possible and they said no information was to be released. That sucks!

  5. Whoa. I have to admit, Rocco and I have done the same thing. We never had a name, but could pull a couple clues from her photos. No luck, but I think I hear you in saying not sure I what I'd do with it if I knew.

  6. OMGoodness! I can be a total online stalker too (I got REALLY good at it during my online dating days), and with your donor... how could you NOT? Oh, I don't think there's any way I could hold back on that one.
